PROGRAMME OF EVENTS 2010 THE IMPRESSIONISTS - VISIT OF ROUEN AND GIVERNY, 3rd and 4th JULY, 2010 We are all very much looking forward to this exceptional coach trip which will take us to Rouen to see the exhibition of the Impressionists at the musée des Beaux Arts, and to Claude Monet’s house/garden in Giverny. VISIT OF THE MUSEUM D’ART THOMAS-HENRY OF CHERBOURG, 22 nd JULY, 2010 To conclude on our season of Impressionist painters, we propose a visit to the above museum, with a conference by the Conservatrice. This will be followed by lunch in a restaurant overlooking the sea. BRING A PLATE, 25th JULY, 2010 Jon and Anne Riches will host the event in their beautiful garden. The aperitif will be offered by the association at midday (12 noon). As in the past, members are invited to come along and bring a dish of their choice, some wine, their plate and cutlery, glasses will be provided. Sun umbrellas will be available as well as a covered area if, although very improbably, the weather is not too good !!. Tables and chairs will be provided. We are expecting this to be a lovely day out at Ancteville, in great company. WALK AROUND VILLEDIEU-les-POELES, 18th AUGUST, 2010 A walk, lasting 1hr30 has been organized around Villedieu ; it will be followed by lunch in town (Le Triskell, Place du Pussoir fidèle in Villedieu). For those who would prefer a shorter tour, we are proposing a 45 minutes’ guided tour of the old city after lunch, for the price of 3,50 euros per person. GUIDED TOUR OF VALOGNES, 28th AUGUST, 2010 A guided tour is planned in the old historical city of Valognes, followed by lunch. PLANT SWAP, 18th SEPTEMBER, 2010 Following last year’s success, we are again organizing a plant swap at the garden of Christine. There will be also a tomato tasting, so please bring your home-grown or purchased tomatoes for a fun competition. Members are also invited to bring a cake or quiche along, for tasting and sharing.
