French/Anglo Integration An Association in the Manche
The Amicale Culturelle Européene was founded 10 years ago with the aim to ‘promote cultural and social activities between the French and other European nationals living in the Manche or neighbouring departments’. Today, we have a thriving membership made up of British, French and nationals of other European countries. We aim to provide an average of one social event per month, often (but not always) with a cultural theme. These events include walks, concerts and visits – usually incorporating a good meal at lunchtime. Events are open to non members but, when a cost is involved, members benefit from a slight reduction. Click on the appropriate links on the right of this page to see the calendar of coming events and reports of events that have already been held. Those members, and non-members, whose pensions have been affected by the collapse of Equitable Life in 2000 may like to know that the Equitable Members Action Group (EMAG) which has been fighting for compensation for several years has now set up a European branch to continue and extend the scope of its lobbying. The european coordinator is Graham Richards who lives in Nerac, South of France and can be contacted on 05 53 65 51 72 or, alternatively, you can see more information via the web site (still under construction), the link can be found under the 'External Links' section to the right of this page.
